“The love cycle” of Forever Amber was released in 1969 and was a self-financing production printed in 99 vinyl copies.
Forever Amber also known as The Country Cousins (1964-67) were a band from Cambridge. It consisted of 6 members. They were founded in 1967 and broke up in 1969. “The Love Cycle” was their only release. According to “The Guardian“ is one of the “1000 albums to hear before you die,” and according to “Record collector”, one of the top 100 psychedelic albums of all time.
The highest sale recorded online according to popsike was on ebay in 2014 for £5.250. The second highest sale was on ebay again for £4.667 and the album belonged to a roadie of the band. Musically the album is very good, but the low production and relatively bad sound (as with almost all self-financing productions) take away from the overall result.
On “The love cycle” you will find quite a few remarkable songs and all of you who love Psychedelic Pop will surely appreciate this album. Even if you do not find the original release, a recirculation of the album will be a nice addition to your record collection.
