Iron maiden’s “Virtual XI” is the British band’s least popular album. The late ’90s were challenging, both for Iron Maiden and for the classic Heavy Metal genre.
Blaze Bayley was criticized unfairly by many of the band’s fans. The truth is he did everything he could to fill Bruce Dickinson’s shoes, but that was something very, very difficult.
From Virtual XI, let’s keep the pleasant moments, which are some great songs, and let’s take the Bayley period like a break before Iron Maiden begins the conquest of the Classic Metal Universe for the second time.
