Bathory’s “Hammerheart” is the Fifth full-length album for the band from Stockholm, Stockholms län, Sweden. It was first released on a vinyl record in 1990. In total, “Hammerheart” has been released officially on vinyl, in fifteen versions to date.

Hammerheart is a landmark album in Viking Metal. Without a doubt, it is a Masterpiece of what these songs and melodies can cause to the metal fan: Enthusiasm, Fury, and excitement!
Bathory, the most influential black metal band in history, is trying to become , with Hammerheart, the most influential Viking metal band. With Hammerheart, Quorthon succeeds in experimenting successfully with a new sound without abandoning the old one.
But the album’s uniqueness comes from the epic atmosphere Quorthon gives to every song. Quorthon hasn’t entirely dropped his Black Metal or thrash metal style here, but he stepped back a little.
Quorthons presence is noticeable enough to keep this album sounding like a Bathory work, which is one of the many reasons this is (perhaps) their best release.
