when Khold has got together and inked an unexpected deal with notorious Moonfog label only one year after the band's formation, there were no others to play a special kind of stripped down, mid-paced, groovy, but at the same time very grim, dirty, cold and atmospheric black metal - their longplay debut [2001] was quite an innovative discovery paying a lot of attention to each and every detail to sound insanely catchy and addictive, while lyrics were written in 18th century Norwegian dialect; this early line-up featured Tulus members, and guest appearance by Galder [Old Man's Child, Dimmu Borgir]; recent super jewel box re-issue comes with a remastered sound and demo version of 'Jol' from 2000
