Vg+/ex- | This is a unique Australian pressing from former New Zealand progressive rock outfit Airlord who crossed The Tasman in the mid 70's and recorded this very impressive album before disappearing from view.
Not a lot is known about this group who have been labeled as guitar-laden progressive rock however they are certainly more intricate than that. There's not a lot of other local acts around at that time you could draw a comparison to … in fact one has to look further afield to Frank Zappa's early 70s work to get any real feel for the title / opening track.
The near 10 minute "Ladies Of The Night" is a classic extended progressive piece, beginning with wispy keyboard and flute meditations slowly building throughout culminating in a ferocious frenzy of wild prog guitar histrionics...pretty awesome stuff really.
Side 2 continues in the same vein in terms of stunning / searing guitar work bent around rich vocals and harmonies.
Overall a pretty impressive album that is sure to slot neatly into your collection.
