Very rare Hungarian original LP. The Bergendy Ensemble is one of the oldest Hungarian jazz groups, it was founded in 1962.Except for three years when they were contracted abroad, they have ratained their leading position in Hungary as regards both jazz and pop music for several seasons now.Their style is a sort of rock based upon traditional jazz while incorporating in it a heap of new effects, and recently utilizing electronic equipment. 4 long tracks: 1.Motets:The central theme of the Motets is a lively Parkerian tune.The series of improvisations, which is symmetrically constructed and consists of four different motives, is woven together into a single piece by the loose thread of the wind improvisation. 2.The right direction:5/4 :The title "right direction 5/4" refers to the fact that I treated characteristic rhythms in this, originally vocal, composition, which in the end I arranged by means of play-back for rock-jazz to be played by a purely instrumental group. 3.Reciprocal thords :The composition is a ballad constructed of the alternations of ad libitum solos and rhythmic, tightly composed parts. 4.Vertical motives in five movements:The vertical motives is an expression of five different morning moods through improvisations of dodecaphonic character.
