Pretty good release from Shingetsu vocalist, although how a book - an encylopedia about plants at that - can inspire someone to create this music I'll never understand.It's a relatively short release this one; and in my eyes that is a good thing. One hour or more of this music would make my brain feel weird; even though the music is both fascinating and captivating - very much so at it's best.
Repetitive patterns by synths, drums and percussion is the name of the game here, in a highly melodic and often mellow setting. Melodic rhythmic percussion, big sounding drums when applied, and floating textures of synths weave sound patterns that I think tries to reflect the growth, evolvement and lifespan of the nine plants named in the song titles here. The tunes start and end in a similar, mostly mellow manner - and have a build-up that ends just prior to the ending of the tune. More experimental in scope than you'd imagine by this description too; and certainly worthwhile checking out if you like electronic music.
