Very obscure (and old – 1968, boys and girls!) compilation from Hungary of all places, INTERNATIONAL BEAT. And the best part of it is, it doesn't seem like ANY of these bands appear anywhere else! Okay, the Subjects' killer clean-cut Rubble popsike gem “Headlines” DID appear on an old PRAE KRAUT PANDEMONIUM volume, and they were also smart to use that great cover shot of the hot hippie chick in the teal leggings. The Subjects were, of course, a German band, from Munich, and are also represented by two OTHER gems on here, but the biggest chunk of vinyl yardage here goes to the Yellow Popcorn Band, who turn in tune after tune of great unheard-of shakin' mod beat British Invasion grooves, the best of which are “Neighbours, Neighbours,” “Lovely Ladies” and a cover of Lennon-McCartney's “Slow Down.” Also featured – two cuts by Don Adams, who's probably NOT the GET SMART guy. Never seen this before, and not since, yet there's a small treasure trove of undiscovered beat pop and popsike gems on here to be found. Plus a guitar-slinging babe in paisley miniskirt and teal
leggings.
