SMELL OF INCENSE/ETHEREAL COUNTERBALANCE | SPLIT 10" (Inspired by the Canterbury scene, THE SMELL OF INCENSE offer long and freely interrpeted versions of two early GONG songs. Based on a trancey floating repetitive drum/bass carpet guitar, keyboards and violin create an open atmosphere. With collected energies they expand into progressive rock space before galumphing into the country folk tinged cosmic sector of 'Magick Brother'. THE ETHEREAL COUNTERBALANCE's multi-layered guitar sound produces hallucinogenic effects: 'I swear I heard a guitar solo I was never able to detect again'. This is psychedelic and space rock for your third ear.)
