REVIEW
Bathory’s fourth album does a lot of things at the same time. It combines Black Metal and Thrash Metal in the best way. Compared to the previous album (U.T.S.O.T.B.M) this one takes a giant step forward in developing black metal sound.
It is also a transitioning album – in between Black Metal & Viking Metal. Quorthon not only set the foundations of two essential metal genres but also made a historical statement.
Chaotically fast and filled with Viking imagery, this masterpiece showed the world that Bathory was not just another black metal band.
